Tim Tebow will have a new colleague on “SEC Nation” for the 2020 season.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Jordan Rodgers will be added to the SEC Network program as an analyst. Marcus Spears and Paul Finebaum, who were previously analysts on the program, have chosen to depart. Spears will begin appearing more on “NFL Live,” while Finebaum focuses on his radio program and other ESPN appearances.
Laura Rutledge will remain in her post as the program’s host.
Rodgers, brother of Aaron and former star of The Bachelor, has some experience in the broadcasting business. He already serves as an analyst for SEC Network, but this marks a pretty big promotion. He will work in a similar role as Kirk Herbstreit on ESPN, doing the preview show in the morning before calling a game at night.
“SEC Nation” is patterned after ESPN’s famous “College Gameday” and travels to the site of a different SEC football game every week. Tebow has been part of the show since its inception and is one of its big draws.
Apparently Rodgers’ original audition for SEC Network was as good as ESPN executives had seen. It’s no wonder he’s getting a bigger role in light of that.
The complicated relationship between Aaron Rodgers and his brother Jordan is something that has been discussed quite a bit over the past year, but the drama seemingly took an ugly turn on Wednesday.
Not long after Aaron announced that he is donating $1 million to aid with wildfire relief and recovery in Northern California, Jordan took to Twitter with a troubling accusation against the Green Bay Packers star. The younger Rodgers implied in a tweet that his and Aaron’s mother was home alone not far from the fires and Aaron didn’t even call to check in on her.
Aaron is said to have a strained relationship with most of his immediate family, and the issues have been going on for years. There had been talk that his ex-girlfriend Olivia Munn contributed to the family problems, but she said the drama began before the two even met.
While Aaron has commented very little on his personal life, his father confirmed last year that the QB does not speak to his parents. That was after Jordan made things public by discussing the family issues on a reality TV show.
All of that was tame compared to what Jordan tweeted on Wednesday.
Aaron Rodgers is not on speaking terms with several members of his family, and the drama supposedly began when the Green Bay Packers quarterback and his younger brother Jordan had a massive argument.
A source close to Rodgers told People Magazine that Aaron and Jordan have had a life-long rivalry that took an ugly turn roughly two years ago when a disagreement became a massive “blow-up.”
“It wasn’t an argument about anything all that interesting,” the source said. “Some things were said on both sides that were regrettable.
“Their parents got involved in the middle of it. Everyone needed a cooling-off period. It could have ended there, but some people chose to go public with it, rather than keeping it a private family matter. And here we are.”
Jordan went public with the family feud while starring in the latest season of “The Bachelorette,” which aired last summer. The younger Rodgers brother revealed that Aaron does not speak with his parents or brother. Then in November, Bleacher Report published a feature that painted the Packers QB in a very negative light. Ed Rodgers, Jordan’s and Aaron’s father, recently confirmed that the information in the Bleacher Report article was accurate and hinted that the Rodgers family dynamic changed when Aaron became famous. That jibes with speculation that Aaron’s relationship with his family went south when he started dating a Hollywood actress.
In any event, Rodgers is focused on leading the Packers in the NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. There’s no telling which members of his family (if any) will be in Houston to cheer him on should the Packers reach the Super Bowl.
When SEC Network announced it had hired Jordan Rodgers as an analyst, many thought it was an attempt by the network to capitalize on the former Vanderbilt quarterback’s newfound television fame. But that’s not exactly the case, according to one ESPN executive.
ESPN senior VP Stephanie Druley talked with SI’s Richard Deitsch about the decision to hire Rodgers, who recently was a contestant on “The Bachelorette” and was the winner of the reality TV show’s contest. Druley told Deitsch that ESPN had Rodgers on their radar for “some time.” The fact that he played quarterback at Vanderbilt was a big reason why, and they thought he had done well in some interviews.
Druley says Rodgers also nailed his audition.
“When he became available, he came to Charlotte. He walked into my office and the first thing I said to him [jokingly] was that his hair might be too high for our network. Despite that, it was clear he had a real passion and a deep knowledge of college football. The audition was really good—rare that someone walks in off the street and does an audition that we would be willing to air,” Druley told SI.
Though they liked his interview, SEC Network waited a few weeks into the Bachelorette before making an official offer to Rodgers, which he accepted.
Now Rodgers will have a new TV gig in addition to a new love in his life. Jordan’s ability to stir up controversy also probably isn’t a bad thing for the network, either.
Now that Jordan Rodgers officially became the last man standing on the latest season of “The Bachelorette,” his brother Aaron is going to be faced with more questions about his personal life than the Green Bay Packers quarterback cares to answer. Heck, even Aaron’s girlfriend is getting dragged into the mix.
Jordan and Aaron have a strained relationship. Jordan revealed as much during an episode of “The Bachelorette,” even hinting that Aaron and the entire Rodgers family don’t get along. Why? That’s what all of us nosey people want to know, and one gossip report claims the rift centers around Olivia Munn.
In an episode that aired on July 18, Jordan brought his now-fiancee JoJo Fletcher to meet his family in California. Ed Rodgers, the father of Jordan and Aaron, raised some eyebrows when he said “fame can change you.” According to US Weekly, a family insider claims the Rodgers family does not like Munn, Aaron’s longtime girlfriend, because she “has a strong personality and every meeting she has had with them has gone badly.”

A show insider says the clan even squabbles over who started the fight. “The family says Aaron stopped talking to them,” notes the insider. “While Aaron says they don’t talk because his family doesn’t like Olivia.” (Says a Munn source: “Aaron makes his own decisions and wouldn’t be swayed by Olivia.”)
In any case, the drama has left Jordan, 27, and Fletcher, 25, “incredibly stressed,” continues the source. “The family is torn apart, and it’s playing out in the media.”
While we have no way of confirming that, a recent feature from Kate Dries of Jezebel noted how the relationship between Aaron, Jordan and the Rodgers family seemed fine a few years ago. Things started to go south right around the time Aaron and Munn got together.
Of course, we’re not going to get a confirmation or denial from the Packers signal-caller. He already made it very clear how he feels about his younger bro airing out family drama in public.

“I went into this knowing that it was TV show and that I only had a small opportunity on camera to tell JoJo everything I needed to in order to get to a place where we could be engaged – and family stuff is a part of that,” he said.
If you missed it, Jordan basically said he does not get along with Aaron and even hinted that Aaron has a strained relationship with the entire Rodgers family. When asked about the comments, Aaron did not seem pleased.
All that said, it would be surprising if the relationship between the Rodgers brothers has deteriorated to the point where Aaron won’t show up at the wedding.

“I haven’t seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot,” Aaron Rodgers said. “As far as those kinds of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.”
Jordan Rodgers has made it clear that he does not have a great relationship with his brother. He also hinted that Aaron has issues with other members of his family.

While we have no idea about the root of the issues between Aaron and Jordan, we have to side with the Packers quarterback on this one. Talking about family drama on a reality show does not seem like the most admirable thing to do.

During some one-on-one time with JoJo (the bachelorette), Jordan explained that if she chooses to go home with him to meet his family next week she’ll be introduced to his parents and his oldest brother Luke. He told her his middle brother won’t be there.
“Like I said, I have a great relationship with my brother Luke. Me and Aaron don’t have that much of a relationship,” Jordan explained, per Kate Dries of Jezebel. “It’s just kind of the way he chose to do life and I chose to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother.
“Yeah it’s not ideal. And I love him and I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in his shoes and have the pressure that he has and the demands from people that he has. I don’t have hard feelings against him, it’s just how things go right now.”
We already knew Jordan and Aaron had an icy relationship, though no one is really sure of when or why things soured between them. However, Jordan’s revelation seemed to imply that Aaron has shut out his entire immediate family — not just his brother.
Jordan then opened up about having to live in Aaron’s shadow.

Jordan Rodgers, the younger brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, is a contestant on “The Bachelorette” this season. When the show premiered Monday night, Jordan’s ex-girlfriend wasted no time absolutely unloading on him.
If social media is any indication, Rodgers and Brittany Farrar have not been together for about two years. That is apparently not enough time for Farrar to leave the past in the past.
Rodgers was a quarterback at Vanderbilt, but his NFL career never panned out. He was signed to practice squads for three NFL teams after going undrafted and never made a regular season roster.
That was some pretty rough stuff from Farrar. I guess we can assume it was a nasty breakup.

Jordan Rodgers is 27 and retired from pro football last year. He attended Butte College like his brother and then transferred to Vanderbilt to play quarterback. He signed with the Jaguars in 2013 as an undrafted free agent and had stints with the Bucs, Dolphins and BC Lions.
