Over 13,000 Nationals fans attend Game 7 watch party at Nationals Park

Washington Nationals

Washington Nationals fans showed up in less-than-ideal weather conditions for a Game 7 watch party at Nationals Park.

While Game 7 was being played at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Nationals fans showed up by the thousands to the team’s home stadium to watch the deciding game of this year’s World Series. Rain didn’t keep more than 13,000 fans from attending, according to the ball club.

Here are a few videos of the scene at Nationals Park.

If the Nationals go on to win the World Series, there will surely be many more than that who will claim to have been there to watch the franchise’s first championship.

Nats fans, they play it, you wear it: Calma was the victory song for the 2019 Washington Nationals. Get your Calma Champions 2019 T-shirt below:

Watch: Nationals fan hit in stomach by home run ball because he was holding beers

Nationals fan beers

A fan attending Game 5 of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros on Sunday night chose his beers over his safety and got a bruise as a result.

Yordan Alvarez homered in the top of the second inning to put Houston up 2-0. His home run ball nailed a Nats fan who was holding beers and tried to knock the ball down with his body instead:

It’s hard to argue with his logic; those beers probably cost a fortune.

There is some brighter news to this story — the fan did end up with the home run ball.

The fan, named Jeff Adams, says he didn’t feel anything!

Adams took quite a hit just to get the ball but at least got the souvenir and did not drop the beverages. Impressive!

Roberto Osuna booed by Nationals fans in Game 3

Roberto Osuna

This week’s controversy involving Houston Astros assistant GM Brandon Taubman has reignited awareness surrounding Roberto Osuna. As a result, the relief pitcher was heavily booed by Washington Nationals fans upon entering Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night to pitch the ninth inning.

Take a listen to this video and you will hear the boos:

Osuna allowed a single to Adam Eaton but struck out Juan Soto to end the game and close out Houston’s 4-1 road win.

Osuna has been in the headlines all week due to Taubman celebrating the team’s acquisition of the reliever last year despite a domestic violence arrest and suspension. The Astros initially backed Taubman in a statement despite a report from SI saying the assistant GM taunted female reporters. Houston they ended up firing the front office executive after being met with backlash and learning from further investigations that Taubman’s version of the story was inaccurate.

Osuna is now in his second season with the Astros. This was his first save of the 2019 postseason.

Nationals fan hit in head trying to catch Victor Robles home run

Washington Nationals

Victor Robles’ home run on Wednesday night gave most Washington Nationals fans a reason to celebrate, though one probably feels differently about it.

A fan sitting in center field near the bullpen took Robles’ home run ball off the head. The fan actually had a glove and made an attempt to catch it but missed and ended up being struck by the ball:

Here’s what it looked like from a distance:

The exit velocity on the home run ball was 102.4 mph, so it definitely had the potential to injure the fan. A fan even died after being hit by a foul ball at a Dodgers game last year.

We’re hoping the fan ended up OK despite being hit.

Fans have awesome Washington Nationals-themed bathroom (Pictures)

Washington Nationals bathroom

Is there any doubt that Washington Nationals fever has caught on around the nation’s capital?

A couple living in Rockville, Md., recently decided to remodel the master bathroom in their home. The two are big baseball fans — and have become big Nationals fans the past few years — so they decided to have their bathroom customized with a Nationals theme.

The bathroom was done by Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., a company in Bethesda with whom they had previously worked.

Here are some of the features of the bathroom:

    – Custom Go Nats shower curtain
    – Curly W logo and stadium tiles in shower
    – Green glass tile on the floor to resemble grass
    – Tile shaped like home plate in front of the vanity
    – Rectangular-framed tiles that form batter’s boxes

There are more pictures of the bathroom below, including the baseball-themed batters box in front of the toilet and vanity.
