Tennis world reacts to Rafael Nadal’s big retirement news

Rafael Nadal made a big announcement on Thursday, and the tennis world reacted accordingly.

Nadal shared a video on social media in which he said he would be retiring from tennis after playing for Spain in the Davis Cup in November. Nadal reflected upon his career in the video.

The 38-year-old Spaniard won 22 grand slams during his career, including a record 14 French Open titles. He is one of the legends of tennis, and his peers recognize that.

Several figures from tennis reacted on social media to Nadal’s retirement news.

Many of the posts that paid tribute to Nadal mentioned his tenacity on the court and his sportsmanship. Nadal is known for fighting hard for every point and in every match he played. Nadal also won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award five times and was the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2011 and 2021, in addition to his multiple playing achievements.
