Bomani Jones made a statement with a T-shirt he wore to work on Thursday, and his employer was not pleased about it.
While filling in for Mike Golic on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike in the Morning” show, Jones taunted the Cleveland Indians with a parody shirt that said “Caucasians” and featured a cartoon of a blonde white guy with a money symbol coming out of his head.
According to TMZ, ESPN “freaked out” over the shirt and told Jones to zip up the hoodie he was wearing over it. He ended up covering most of it but still left some of the logo showing.
The Indians have finally given up on the Chief Wahoo logo altogether in favor of the less controversial block C. The shirt Jones was wearing became popular a couple of years back. If you remember, a Native American group was once planning a major lawsuit against the Indians over the use of the logo.
