Cubs raffling off actual ‘Back to the Future’ car if they win World Series
If the Chicago Cubs win the World Series in 2015 (we know, we know), one lucky fan could have the chance to own the actual DeLorean time machine that was featured in the film “Back to the Future II.”
In that movie, the Cubs were crowned world champions in 2015. According to ABC News, the Volo Auto Museum in Illinois is hosting a giveaway for the 1981 vehicle if the Cubs win it all as the movie predicted.
“The car is fully functional. It’s a running and driving car,” museum director Brian Grams explained. “Though we don’t guarantee time travel with the car, its flux capacitor and other board lights light up just like the movie’s car.”
As we all know, the Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908. That would be pretty cool if the movie predicted their next championship, and particularly awesome for one fan would would be the proud owner of the DeLorean.
And if the Cubs come up short once again, the winner of the raffle will still get a prize.
“We keep the car, but the giveaway winner will win the museum’s hover board prop,” Grams said.
Maybe there’s a reason this baseball cap was never needed more than a decade ago. The Cubs were destined to win the World Series in 2015. It could happen, right?
