Ian Kinsler to home plate umpire: ‘Do your f—ing job!’ (Video)
Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler has had a brutal week at the dish. Entering the day sporting a .190/.227/.238 slash line over his last five games, the 33-year-old veteran capped things off on Sunday with a spectacularly bad 0-for-4 with a strikeout showing against the Houston Astros.
The frustrations of Kinsler’s mini-slump appeared to boil over in the matinee game after home plate umpire Doug Eddings rung up teammate Jose Iglesias on a knee-high pitch in the seventh inning. The former Texas Ranger responded by giving Eddings a friendly recommendation in colorful fashion, receiving an ejection for his efforts.

Maybe Kinsler shouldn’t be talking as the Tigers really haven’t been doing theirs this season. At 56-61 on the year, Detroit is a distant third in the AL Central, much closer to the basement (1.5 games ahead of the last place Indians) than the summit (14.5 games behind the division-leading Royals). However, with slugger Miguel Cabrera making his return from the DL on Sunday as well, perhaps Eddings’ opportunity to yell the same back at the Tigers dugout won’t be good for long.
H/T Bless You Boys
