Russell Martin day-to-day after sauna-related mishap
There is an epidemic of weird injuries ripping through baseball, with Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin the latest victim.
According to manager John Gibbons, Martin will miss a few days after injuring his knee in the shower — because he became lightheaded from staying in the sauna for too long.
Gibbons on Martin:Russ was in sauna yesterday, was in too long, got lightheaded, fell in shower & hurt knee. Needs couple days off #BlueJays

Martin clarified his status, saying he passed out because he hadn’t eaten enough.
Martin: Stayed in the sauna too long, didn't eat enough. Passed out in the shower. No concussion, no structural damage to knee. #Bluejays

Be careful when showering after a trip to the sauna, everyone. It’s dangerous. Not as dangerous as a broken beer mug, but still dangerous.
