Atlanta Hawks’ Twitter keeps it funny during blowout

Hawks Twitter

The Atlanta Hawks were absolutely obliterated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first half of Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals playoff series on Wednesday, leaving their social media team very little to work with. That said, the Hawks’ Twitter account sure made lemonade out of some rotten lemons.

Early on in the game, they kept it light and friendly with this tweet:

Then as the game went on and the score grew more out of hand with the Cavs up 74-38 at the half, the Hawks’ Twitter cracked a joke:

And then they even clowned themselves with a meme, which included the Crying Jordan face in place of their score:

There really wasn’t much for the Hawks to do in this one. The Cavs were just absurdly hot in the game, setting a playoff record for made threes in the contest — and that was just through two and a half quarters.

What else can you do except sit back, joke about it, and try to get even in the next game? The Blazers’ Twitter sure could learn from the Hawks about how to be funny without being mean.
