Report: Dwyane Wade interested in Heat, LA teams if bought out

Dwyane Wade Bulls

Dwyane Wade is expected to reach an agreement on a buyout with the Bulls at some point this offseason, and the belief is that he will try to join forces with LeBron James again by signing with the Cavaliers. However, Wade is reportedly going to consider other options outside of Cleveland.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that one of Wade’s associates has been telling people D-Wade is open to returning to the Heat or potentially playing in Los Angeles. Jackson didn’t specify if the associate meant the Lakers or Clippers, so it’s possible both are intriguing options for Wade.

More from Jackson:

We would never profess to know what Wade is thinking; only Wade – for whom we have great respect – and those closest to him know that.

So we’re not attempting to mind-read Wade. But the person who mentioned Miami and L.A. to me was the same person who first alerted me to my scoop a few years ago that Wade’s negotiations with the Heat were not going well – the first time that information ever surfaced (and a year later, the sides divorced).

It seems obvious that Wade would want to team up with his close friend LeBron again, and the Cavs are a legitimate title contender as long as James sticks around. Wade also met with the Lakers before he signed with the Bulls last year, so we already know he had interest there.

A return to the Heat seems like the least likely scenario, especially when you consider the reasons why Wade left Miami. That said, anything is possible. Wade clearly wants out of Chicago, and he spent his entire career in Miami prior to leaving last offseason. We wouldn’t rule it out.
