Report: Dwyane Wade, Lakers have mutual interest
The thought of Dwyane Wade in something other than a Miami Heat uniform is bizarre, but it is starting to seem like more of a possibility as we get further into the offseason.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated is reporting that Wade and the Los Angeles Lakers may have mutual interest. Although, at this point, it’s tough to separate fact from standard contract negotiations between Wade and the Heat.
While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources.

The Lakers obviously have one aging superstar in Kobe Bryant, and they are paying him top dollar. Do they really want to take on another guard who is nearing the end of his career after a 21-win season, or would they rather spend money on younger players and start looking toward the future? The latter seems more likely, even if Kobe might only have a season left in him.
One report claims the Heat are only offering Wade $36 million over three seasons, which may not be enough to convince him to stay. And then there was that hint Wade seemed to drop during the NBA Finals about potentially leaving Miami.
Still, Los Angeles seems like an unlikely destination.
