Dwyane Wade says last season was not fun

The Miami Heat did not achieve their ultimate goal last season of winning an NBA championship, but they still had a good year and reached the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive season. Despite the relative success, Dwyane Wade says last season was not fun.

Wade made his comments in an interview with Bleacher Report’s Ethan J. Skolnick and could not single out the reason why the season was not fun.

“It’s hard to say, man, because you want it. We wanted it. So it’s hard to say that. You don’t know exactly what’s going to come with it, but we put ourselves in that position. But sometimes you can put too much on yourself, all of us, and it becomes a black cloud around. Last year wasn’t fun. I mean, there was no stretch of it [that was] fun. That whole season, to me, it’s amazing we made it to the Finals. It’s just honest.”

There was a lot of stress last season for the Heat. They weren’t as good as they had been the previous three seasons. Wade was constantly hurt and didn’t play his best. Expectations were as high as ever. It’s easy to see why things wouldn’t have been great for the players. Plus you had questions about the team’s future on top of everything else.

Wade should have more fun this season because expectations will be lower, but we’ll see how much he enjoys playing on a team that isn’t championship-caliber.
