Thanks to NBA teams having an increased amount of money to spend this summer due to the league’s new television deal, contracts players have secured have caused jaws to drop. When it’s time for Isaiah Thomas to ink his next contract, it’s probably going to take a lot of money to secure his services.
The Celtics guard was in Las Vegas on Saturday to watch the Celtics’ summer league team in action against the Bulls. While there, Thomas commented on the huge dollar amounts being tossed around in free agency this year and joked someone is going to have to bring a Brinks truck for him two years from now.
Isaiah Thomas on his free agency in 2 years: "They'd better bring out the Brinks truck. They paying everybody else, I gotta get something."

There will surely be some who will say Thomas isn’t a “max” contract player. Even if he doesn’t get one, he won’t be far off, which is still pretty good for the guy who was the last pick of the 2011 draft.
Thomas also confirmed he recruited Al Horford during this year’s All-Star break and it sounds like Thomas is a pretty good closer.
Isaiah Thomas said Horford actually asked him about Boston back at the All-Star break. Knew Horford wasn't going anywhere else after meeting

In his first full season with the Celtics, Thomas averaged a career-high 22.2 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He also made his first All-Star team and helped the Celtics to the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
