John Wall jabs Celtics for all-black attire after hitting game-winner

John Wall wasn’t about to take the Boston Celtics’ disrespect sitting down.

After burying a game-winning three-pointer with 3.5 seconds remaining to lift his Washington Wizards to a 92-91 victory at home over the Celtics on Friday and force a Game 7, Wall took a shot at Boston for their pregame antics.

“I ain’t going home,” said Wall in a postgame interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters. “Don’t come to my city wearing all black talking about it’s a funeral. We’ve worked too hard for this. And all we ask for is a Game 7. 50/50. And that’s all we ask for. We do it for these unbelievable fans. Without these guys, we wouldn’t have won this game.”

The Celtics, who entered Game 6 up 3-2 in the Round 2 playoff series, showed up to Verizon Center for the game wearing all-black attire (pictures here). It was a way of getting even with the Wizards, who pulled the same trick on them during a regular season game in January. But Wall, who finished with 26 points and eight assists on the evening, made for darn sure that there wasn’t going to be a funeral on his home floor Friday night.
