Detroit Pistons guard Jose Calderon spent the first seven-plus years of his career walking into the Raptors’ locker room in Toronto at halftime and upon the conclusion of games. Assuming he was present for every game during his Raptors career, that means he repeated that action nearly 500 times. Old habits die hard.
On Monday night, Calderon visited Toronto as a member of the Pistons. He is so used to retreating to the Raptors’ locker room at the Air Canada Centre that he did so without thinking at halftime, and one of the team’s coaches had to correct him and remind him he was on the wrong side. As you can see, Calderon instantly realized there were cameras rolling and knew websites like us would be poking fun at him on Tuesday.
Hey, it happens. We’re all guilty of turning on autopilot on occasion and ending up in the wrong place. Fortunately for most of us, we’re not on live television when it goes down.
