quentin-richardsonThis has been quite the offseason for Quentin Richardson. First he started off with the Knicks and got traded for Darko — quite the insult — on draft night. The Grizzlies then turned around and moved him to the Clippers for Zach Randolph, trying to show their fans that they’re “spending” to make the team better. The Clippers apparently decided they didn’t have much use for him what with Eric Gordon and all, so they shipped him to Minny for a few useless parts and a backup point guard in Sebastian Telfair. And now after like 3-4 weeks, the Timberwolves dealt him to the Heat for Mark Blount. By this point Q has to have a question in his mind — is he a valuable commodity that everyone wants or someone nobody wants? Pat Riley answered that:

“We are very excited to add Quentin Richardson,” Heat president Pat Riley said. “Over the course of his career, he has proven to be a fierce competitor, a great locker room presence and a very prolific 3-point shooter who may be one of the strongest perimeter players in the NBA. We feel that he will be able to match-up well against the top scorers in the league.”

Those are some pretty nice things for Riley to say about Q. Nice and all until he turns around and trades him for someone else. By the way, I wonder how many teams were “excited” to have Richardson before trading him days later. I bet Q wishes he still were in Phoenix catching passes from Nash.

Seriously, how many times can one guy get traded? I think his expiring contract should get inducted.
