Klay Thompson: ‘We’re going to win this series’

After a loss in Game 3 of the NBA Finals Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors have their backs against the wall heading into what is essentially a must-win Game 4 in Cleveland.

Klay Thompson does not seem overly concerned.

The biggest story over the past two games has been the NBA’s best shooting team losing its stroke. The Warriors shot just 39.8 percent from the field as a team in Game 2 and 40.0 percent in Game 3. Thompson expects that to turn around quickly.

“If we get our offense back, which we will, we’re going to win this series,” Thompson said Tuesday night, per ESPN’s Ethan Strauss.

Believe it or not, reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry has been part of the problem for Golden State. He hasn’t seemed the same since taking a nasty fall in the Western Conference Finals, and memes about Curry going missing even started flooding the internet during Game 3.

However, Curry appeared to regain his form down the stretch on Tuesday. He shot 9-of-14 from the floor in the second half, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range. The Warriors scored 36 points in the fourth quarter, but it was too late.

In addition to rediscovering their offense, Golden State also needs to figure out a way to slow LeBron James, who has completely taken over since Kyrie Irving was ruled out with a knee injury. LeBron is averaging 41 points, 12 rebounds and 8.3 assists through three Finals games thus far. Someone should probably put a body on him.
