Steph Curry does not fault wife Ayesha for Twitter comments
The pressure on Steph Curry entering Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday extends well beyond what he needs to accomplish on the court. He’s also now dealing with a controversy relating to the Twitter comments made by his wife Ayesha after the Warriors lost Game 6 115-101 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
After the game, a frustrated Ayesha accused the NBA of being “absolutely rigged” for money or ratings. She later deleted her tweet and tried to explain what led to her comments.
Though Steph was not asked about Ayesha’s Twitter fiasco during his postgame press conference, he did talk about it with ESPN’s Marc J. Spears and seemed to take it easy on his wife.
“When it comes to Twitter and all that, everybody says stuff where you get caught in the moment,” Stephen Curry told Spears. “After a while, you kind of stand and calm down. Things might not be as you thought. … I don’t fault her from showing some emotion on Twitter.”
It’s pretty nice of Steph to take it easy on Ayesha, at least publicly. The woman is receiving so much backlash as it is it’s probably nice to have his support.
Steph also talked about another situation that added to Ayesha’s frustration. Ayesha was frustrated that those on the Golden State Warriors’ bus were not allowed into Game 6 until right around the time of tipoff. She also was upset that her dad was nearly arrested as part of a sting because he resembled a con artist security was watching out for.
