Haden has been USC’s athletic director since 2010, and his tenure has been something of a rocky one. He’s had to deal with the drunken antics of not one, but two head coaches, the second of which eventually filed a wrongful termination suit against the school after being fired. He also fired Lane Kiffin by pulling him off the team bus at the airport, and has even argued with referees on the field. At the end of the day, on Haden’s watch, the basketball team hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2011 and the football team, hit by sanctions, has never been able to reach the same heights as it did under Pete Carroll.
