Georgia’s Tyler Simmons was not offsides on blocked punt
Georgia had a massive play early in the second half that was wiped out by a penalty, but replay showed the penalty never should have been called.
Alabama went 3-and-out to start the second half of the national championship game in Atlanta on Monday and looked to punt on fourth down. Their punt was actually blocked by Georgia. However, the Bulldogs were flagged because the referees thought Tyler Simmons was offsides.
Replay showed they were not actually offsides despite the appearance that Simmons had jumped:

Alabama got the punt off safely the second time, which helped them flip the field. After getting a stop, the Crimson Tide finally got on the board on their next possession with a touchdown.
