Former Nebraska QB sends perfect tweet about Eichorst firing
Former Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. sent a perfect tweet after news came out that the school had fired athletic director Shawn Eichorst.
Here’s what Armstrong Jr. had to say:
Bet my dog coach Bo laughing right now!!!!

That is a reference to Bo Pelini, who was the coach of the program when Armstrong was recruited to the school. Pelini was fired towards the end of Armstrong’s sophomore season. The former Nebraska coach ripped Eichorst in a meeting with his players and believed the AD was trying to push him out for a while.
Armstrong, who started at QB for Nebraska from 2013-2016, was also critical of Eichorst and the way the AD handled the announcement of Pelini’s firing.
I'll say what most of us previous players wanted to say. From day 1 he didn't give us a good first impression def during that first meeting

When he fired Bo as a athlete you would want your boss to tell you before walking into a empty building with no clue of what happened.

Former Nebraska CB Josh Mitchell shared a similar criticism of Eichorst.
That man showed up to our team meeting room with armed security to tell us he fired our coach but u want me to have respect for him. CRAZY

Eichorst was fired Thursday, days after Nebraska lost at home to Northern Illinois.
