Alexandria Vera: Teacher got impregnated by 13-year-old student
Alexandria Vera, a 24-year-old middle school English teacher in Houston, Texas, turned herself into police on Wednesday after she was investigated for having a sexual relationship with one of her students.
Vera admitted to having sex with one of her middle school students on a nearly daily basis as the two carried out a relationship for nearly nine months. She was even impregnated by the student in January but had an abortion after Child Protective Services came around in February to look into things. The boy was 13 when the relationship began but since turned 14.
Vera told investigators that the two met and developed interest for one another during a summer session before the school year began. They began talking when she contacted the student via Instagram after he missed class one day. He asked for her phone number and if they could hang out. She said yes and picked him up. They ended up kissing that day. They then went to his home the next day since his parents were not home and had sex.
The boy’s parents apparently approved of the relationship, knew of Vera as his girlfriend, and were excited about the pregnancy. They allowed their son to spend the night at her house and be dropped off at home in the morning so he could go to school.
Vera also has a 4-year-old daughter.
Neighbors told KHOU that Vera had young boys over all the time and that many were drinking. She supposedly told them the boy was her brother.
Vera is facing charges of constant sexual abuse. She was wearing a Golden State Warriors T-shirt in her mugshot.
