Jim Nantz and his new wife Courtney said hello to a new friend this week.
Nantz, the top announcer for CBS, typically calls the Big Ten tournament, but he’s not this week because he was with his wife, Courtney, who gave birth to the couple’s first child. CBS Sports Network shared the photo seen above during the telecast for one of their Mountain West Conference tournament games on Friday night and explained why we wouldn’t be hearing Nantz’s voice on Sunday.
Nantz, 54, was married to his ex-wife for 26 years until they divorced in 2009. The divorce was ugly and played out in public. He began dating 29-year-old Courtney Richards before the divorce was finalized. The two married at Pebble Beach in 2012, and now they have their first child — Finley Cathleen Nantz.
