Adrian Peterson skipping Vikings’ OTAs because he wants trade

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson is skipping OTAs for the Minnesota Vikings, and that largely because he still wants to be traded, according to a report.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson reported Sunday that Peterson will skip the team’s three organized team activities workouts this week. Skipping the OTAs this week will result in Peterson forfeiting a $250,000 workout bonus that he receives if he attends 90 percent of his team’s OTAs and minicamps.

Yahoo!’s Charles Robinson took things a step further by reporting that Peterson is skipping the workouts because he wants to be traded. Robinson reports that Peterson intends to skip all of the team’s offseason activities (they have three more 3-day OTA sessions).

Peterson is still unhappy with the Vikings for failing to back him when he went through his child abuse case last year and wants a fresh start elsewhere. His agent, Ben Dogra, who previously got into a fight with a Vikings exec, recently tried to get the team to give Peterson more guaranteed money.
