Alex Smith’s wife blasts weatherman who thinks Nick Foles is better
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was forced to exit in the second half of the team’s 30-14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday after suffering a concussion. Backup Nick Foles took over and proceeded to throw for 223 yards and two touchdowns to secure the win, leading some in Kansas City, including local weatherman Gary Lezak, to question whether he’d be the better long-term fit for them under center.
After Smith exited for good in the third quarter after taking a second hit to the head (video here), Lezak let his excitement about Foles taking over be known and even took a shot at Smith when Foles tossed a 34-yard touchdown to Tyreek Hill.
Nick Foles for the @Chiefs once threw 7 TD passes in one NFL game and he had one of the rare perfect QB ratings in a game. Go Chiefs!

Was Nick Foles running the offense better? Go Defense!

That play does NOT happen with Alex Smith! TD @Chiefs

Little did Lezak know though that Smith’s wife Elizabeth would be hopping in his mentions to clap back at him.
@glezak @Chiefs Do yourself and everyone else a favor. Stick to what you know. It's embarrassing.

Boom, roasted.
For Smith, who has taken more than his fair share of criticism over the years, it must be good to know that his wife has his back against all the haters, local weather personalities and otherwise.
