Report: Ben Roethlisberger could miss 6 weeks with bone bruise, MCL sprain
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was very fortunate to escape without a season-ending injury after going down against the Rams on Sunday. Early reports have indicated that Big Ben will miss four weeks with a sprained MCL, but it could end up being a bit longer than that.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Monday morning that Roethlisberger also suffered a bone bruise, which can be just as much of an issue as an MCL sprain. That could result in a six-week absence for Roethlisberger.
Talked Big Ben on #NFLHQ… It's clear the bone bruise is as much or more of an issue than the MCL sprain. More likely 6 weeks out than 4

If you did not see the frightening low hit that Roethlisberger took, you can watch the play here.
The good news for the Steelers is they were able to sneak out a win after Michael Vick came on in relief of Roethlisberger. They improved to 2-1 on the season but have an incredibly tough stretch of games upcoming against the Ravens, Chargers, Cardinals, Chiefs and Bengals. It’s looking like Big Ben will miss all of those games, so going 3-2 or 2-3 during that stretch might be the best-case scenario for Pittsburgh.
