Buffalo Bills release depth chart without tipping starting QB
The Buffalo Bills managed to release their depth chart without tipping their plans for their starting quarterback.
Ahead of their first preseason game Friday against the Carolina Panthers, the Bills released an unofficial depth chart. The position of greatest intrigue on the team is quarterback, where Matt Cassel, E.J. Manuel and Tyrod Taylor are battling for the gig. The depth chart did nothing to rank the quarterbacks as it listed all of them as first stringers.
The QBs were separated by slashes and listed in order of NFL experience, meaning it went Cassel, Taylor and then Manuel.
Cassel may be favored to open the season as the team’s starter considering head coach Rex Ryan said the veteran would start Friday’s game. However, if the depth chart tells us anything, it’s that the situation is fluid and a long way away from being decided.
