How was Colin Kaepernick treated in his first game appearance since his national anthem protest went public? Just about as you would expect.
Kaepernick was booed by fans at Qualcomm Stadium as he made his way onto the field prior to Thursday’s preseason game between the 49ers and Chargers.

Boos were anticipated for Kaepernick ever since the San Francisco QB made it known he was protesting the national anthem to bring attention to the issue of police treatment towards African-Americans. They were especially expected for Thursday’s game because San Diego is home to so many members of the military. Of course, the boos do not tell the complete story as Kaepernick has actually received support from some veterans.
