Colin Kaepernick addresses pig socks he wore at practice
Colin Kaepernick posted a note on Instagram Thursday that addresses the pig socks he wore at a past San Francisco 49ers practice.
A photo of Kaepernick wearing socks that feature a cartoon pig with a police hat went viral Wednesday and Thursday.

Though the photo was shared via social media this week, the quarterback says that he actually wore these socks at practice prior to his national anthem controversy.
True indeed, the photo was taken on Aug. 10, though it only began being widely shared on social media this week.
Kaepernick did not apologize for wearing the socks, but he clarified that the derogatory depiction of police officers is only intended for those who do not serve, protect and treat all people equally, which is the basis of his national anthem protest.
Kaepernick remains on the 49ers’ roster despite his protest of the national anthem, which has lasted all preseason but gained attention after the team’s third preseason game. The quarterback reportedly is hated by NFL executives, with one likening the dislike of Kaepernick to levels seen with Rae Carruth, who was found guilty of conspiracy to murder a woman pregnant with his child.
