Cowboys may have interest in Montee Ball
Montee Ball could end up being released soon, and the Dallas Cowboys would have interest in him if that is the case.
Ball is fighting for a roster spot on the Denver Broncos and buried below several running backs on the team’s depth chart. He also didn’t play well in Thursday’s finale, rushing for just 27 yards on 16 carries.
The Broncos are said to be shopping him, and a report says the Cowboys have talked with them about a trade.

The more likely scenario is that Ball is outright released. In that case, Dallas would have interest in the former Wisconsin back:
Cowboys could have interest in Montee Ball if released, according to source, but no interest in trading for him. And again, why would they?

Ball has disappointed with Denver since a decent rookie year in 2013. He rushed for 172 yards on 52 carries last season, good for an average of 3.1, and saw C.J. Anderson emerge. Dallas, or any other interest team for that matter, may hope to rediscover the skills that made Ball a second-round pick in 2013.
