Josh Scobee Calls DeSean Jackson a ‘Punk’ and a ‘Tiny Bastard’ on Twitter
No Michael Vick, no problem. Vince Young led the Philadelphia Eagles to an NFC East win over the Giants on Sunday night that included an incredible fourth-quarter touchdown drive that lasted more than 11 minutes. DeSean Jackson also had a good evening, catching six passes for 88 yards. After one of those grabs, he was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for flipping the ball to a Giants coach. The officials apparently thought the toss was intentional, as did Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee who took to Twitter to blast DeSean:
At least he didn’t flip the ball in the air at the 1-yard line, right? Scobee’s tweet likely represented what a lot of people were thinking about Jackson, who has not improved his reputation this year whether it be by avoiding contact or missing team meetings. Scobee later clarified his initial tweet by saying Jackson is a punk because he “doesn’t respect anyone or anything around him.”
This morning, Scobee may have woken up thinking he took it too far as he tweeted the following: “Shouldn’t have called DeSean Jackson that, I used the wrong words to try and make my point.” The only crime here in my opinion is that it had to be a kicker who called Jackson out.
Chest bump to Shutdown Corner for the story.
