Matt Barkley wears wetsuit underneath uniform vs. Packers
Chicago Bears quarterback Matt Barkley had an innovative way of dealing with the frigid Chicago weather on Sunday.
With temperatures at Soldier Field flirting with single digits Fahrenheit for Chicago’s Week 15 showdown against the NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers, Barkley opted to wear a wetsuit underneath his uniform during the game, according to Max Meyer of NFL.com.
The wetsuit is apparently supposed to promote “flexibility throwing the football” with Barkley crediting New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for starting the practice amongst signal callers.
Barkley, who has a history of taking the field in experimental attire, did manage to throw for 362 yards and two touchdowns against Green Bay but also tossed three interceptions in the eventual 30-27 loss. He at least gets an “A” for effort though.
