Odell Beckham Jr. is taking a little bit of victory lap after some recent economic events.

The Miami Dolphins wide receiver Beckham posted to X on Wednesday, addressing those who criticized his decision to take his salary while with the Los Angeles Rams in Bitcoin. Beckham shared a screenshot of the current price of Bitcoin, writing, “Soooo who said taking my Rams salary in bitcoin was dumb again?”

Bitcoin has seen a massive spike in price over the last week or so, going from around $67,000 a coin to around $90,000 at the time of writing. Beckham’s screenshot showed the cryptocurrency at a price of over $92,000 (having touched $93,462.56 at its peak this week).

The two-time Pro Bowler Beckham, now 32, is not having a very productive year with the Dolphins, logging just five catches for 32 yards and zero TDs over five games. But his creative decision back in 2021 to take his one-year salary with the Rams entirely in Bitcoin (you can read more about it here) has ended up paying off. Beckham is also far from the only NFL player to be reaping the benefits right now of a bet on Bitcoin.
