Matthew Stafford fakes out Cowboys for winning touchdown

The Detroit Lions made an impressive comeback against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and won 31-30 after a great final drive led by Matthew Stafford.

Stafford hit Calvin Johnson for a 22-yard pass down to the 1-yard line with the clock running and under 30 seconds left. Since Detroit did not have a timeout to stop the clock, Stafford ran up to the line of scrimmage motioning the entire way that he was going to spike the ball. But when Stafford got up to the line of scrimmage, he realized he had a great opportunity to win the game right there.

Instead of spiking the ball, Stafford dove over the top of the line and reached out with the ball to break the plane. He then pulled the ball down and ran it in just to ensure they would get credit for the score. They did and the Lions won 31-30.

Stafford’s fake spike motions as he was running up to take the snap completely fooled both teams:

Megatron finished with 329 receiving yards in the game, which is second most all time behind Flipper Anderson. They needed every single one of those yards to get that thrilling win.
