Ryan Fitzpatrick has returned to the New York Jets with the hair on his head and face looking more unreasonable than ever. It was only a matter of time before someone called him out on it.
During a chat with Suzy Kolber on ESPN’s “NFL Insiders” show this week, Fitzpatrick was asked if and when he is going to find some free time to “clean up.” He took it well:

“You don’t like it?” Fitzpatrick asked with a smile.
“I’m kind of wondering what woman does,” Kolber said. “As long as your wife is cool with it, we’re good.”
“That’s the thing, I’m not trying to impress anybody. I’ve already got my wife locked down, I hope,” Fitzpatrick joked. “Hopefully we’ll cut it soon.”
Fitzpatrick was rocking the beard all of last year when he threw a franchise-record 31 touchdown passes, so Jets fans are probably hoping he keeps it. We know another professional sports team in New York that would never allow Fitzpatrick to look the way he does, but it’s his choice in this situation. If he can survive the summer heat, the beard might come in handy again once November rolls around.
