Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Wednesday in Lakewood, Ohio, and is facing two charges.
Lattimore, who played college football at Ohio State, is facing charges of carrying concealed weapons and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. Lattimore was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for having expired license plates, and other traffic violations. Lattimore was arrested because he did not inform police officers that there was a gun in the vehicle, which is why he received the improper handling charge.
Lattimore was booked into jail in Lakewood and later released.
“We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We have informed the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time,” the Commanders said in a statement.
Lattimore, 29, is a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback who has played for both the New Orleans Saints and Commanders. He had 27 tackles and an interception in 9 games this season.
Lattimore has faced legal problems in the past. In 2021, he faced a charge for allegedly accepting stolen property. He later pleaded guilty to a first-degree misdemeanor charge for carrying a concealed weapon.
