Sam Bradford gives vague update on ‘non-contact’ knee injury

Sam Bradford

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford is still very much questionable for Sunday, and still quite tight-lipped as to the nature of his current injury.

Bradford did divulge on Wednesday that the left knee issue was of the non-contact variety, and he suffered it during Week 1.

“I felt it when it happened,” Bradford said, via Courtney Cronin of ESPN. “I honestly didn’t think it was that big of a deal, and then the longer the game went on, it started to feel just a little bit worse and a little worse. Woke up Tuesday, and it just didn’t feel very good.”

Bradford did warm up before last Sunday’s game, but said the knee just didn’t feel right.

“Really just trying to figure out if I could move, what my limitations were, if I was going to be able to go out there and do what I needed to be able to play quarterback and make moves and protect myself,” Bradford said. “I was hoping that it was going to feel better than it did having rested it on Saturday without really doing a whole lot. Sunday it just didn’t feel right. It wasn’t ready to go.”

Bradford said he has a clear diagnosis on the injury but would not speak on the severity of it. Reports have indicated it is a bone bruise, and his status for Sunday might just go down to the wire again.
