Report: Washington sold on Kirk Cousins as quarterback of the future
Washington has apparently seen enough of Kirk Cousins that they’re ready to anoint him their franchise quarterback, according to a report.
CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora says that the team’s football people are sold on Cousins and have reached out to open extension talks, and are even willing to use their franchise tag on him if necessary.

Skins love Cousins' play, his make-up, leadership. They've seen enough to do a big-boy contract with him. Would franchise him if need be…

Cousins has done pretty well for Washington this year, though I doubt most observers would call him anything more than solid. He has a high completion percentage, but he still has his moments of being a bit turnover-prone. Still, the team is apparently convinced. I guess you could say they like that.
