Chael Sonnen hangs up on radio host after money laundering questions (Audio)

Chael Sonnen hung up on a radio host on Wednesday after growing upset with the questions he was being asked.

The loquacious fighter joined John Canzano on 750 The Game in Portland and talked mostly about his upcoming fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 148. As soon as Canzano began asking Sonnen about his controversies of the past few years — namely a guilty plea to a money laundering charge and a suspension for elevated levels of testosterone — Sonnen grew irritated and eventually hung up.

He became particularly incensed when Canzano termed Sonnen’s plea as one for mortgage fraud, when it was a plea for money laundering related to mortgage fraud. That was enough to set Sonnen off, and he dropped the infamous David Stern “have you stopped beating your wife” line on Canzano.

Even if Canzano was technically wrong with what he was saying, it was clear that Sonnen began going off the rails when he was pressed about those issues.

For someone who loves to dish it, he becomes quite uncomfortable when he takes it.

Audio of the exchange leading to the hang up is below. You can listen to the full interview here.
