Hope Solo denies domestic violence allegation: ‘I’ve never been hit in my life’

Hope Solo spoke to the media on Tuesday for the first time since appearing in a courtroom to support her future husband against a domestic violence allegation he was facing the day of their wedding.

Solo, who is in Oregon with the US national team preparing for a practice game against Ireland, denied that any domestic violence took place between her and her husband, Jerramy Stevens.

“My life is great. My life is happy,” she said after a training session Tuesday.

Solo also blamed the media for … I’m not sure what exactly, but she blamed them anyway.

“It’s unfortunate what the media can do to really judge before the facts are out there. It’s hard to see, but it’s a hard truth and it’s part of life.

“I’m happy. I’m happily married. We never stand for domestic violence. I’ve never been hit in my life. It’s unfortunate, and that’s what the media can do.”

I don’t know why she’s so upset with the media. Did the media report anything other than the facts? The fact is that Stevens was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and released because of a lack of evidence the day of their wedding. Even if Stevens didn’t hit her, he still has a history of being one of the biggest scumbag ex-athletes on the planet. For people to question Solo’s sanity for marrying him seems pretty reasonable to me.
