SNL lampoons Mike Rice video in great sketch

SNL lampooned the Mike Rice practice video in absolutely epic fashion. Actress Melissa McCarthy was hosting “Saturday Night Live” for a second time, and she brilliantly played the role of Sheila Kelly, the head coach of phony Division III school Middle Delaware State, for the sketch. Bill Hader played the role of an “Outside the Lines” reporter, and the whole thing was amazing.

The sketch featured brilliant lines such as Coach Kelly threatening to cut players’ ponytails off. Other forms of her abuse included:
Melissa McCarthy Mike Rice

    - Shooting T-shirt guns at people.

    – Throwing bricks at her players.

    – Threatening her players with a baseball bat.

    – Making the players serve her a meal on the court.

    – Chasing after the players in a golf cart.

I completely lost it when Kelly knocked out the teacher with the Taser gun. But the best part was when fictitious coach Kenny Watkins, playing the Eric Murdock role, emerged. Coach Kelly was stalking him like Ben Stiller’s character in “Happy Gilmore.” It was hilarious.

The whole situation with Rice sucked, but “Saturday Night Live” sure knew how to make light of it.

SNL nails Ray Lewis spoof (Video)

ray lewis snlAre you sick of Ray Lewis? Is his facepainting and yelling becoming too much for you? Did you roll your eyes when he cried as the National Anthem was played before the AFC Championship Game? Then this video is for you.

“Saturday Night Live” had Kenan Thompson dress up in a Baltimore Ravens jersey and paint his face like Lewis during the Weekend Update with Seth Meyers for a sketch. Thompson absolutely nailed his spoof, perfectly mocking how religious-obsessed Lewis has become, and more.

“If we win the Super Bowl, I’m going to go to the 50-yard line of the Superdome, kneel down, and I’m going to ascend into heaven.”

I have to say, I really wouldn’t oppose it if that did happen.

Eli Manning kills it with Little Brothers sketch on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (Video)

Eli Manning hosted “Saturday Night Live” and put together an impressive performance on Saturday. His Little Brothers sketch (seen above), was probably the highlight of the program. Similar to older brother Peyton’s United Way sketch, this one featured Eli working with young kids. Eli, who was picked on by his brothers growing up, started a club to protect little brothers from their big brothers, and the results were pretty hilarious.

Eli also mocked Brett Favre’s sexting in another sketch. This one took place in a court room setting, was quite a bit longer and not as funny, though it did have its moments. The video is below:

SNL Wants Tim Tebow to Host Show?

Saturday Night Live reportedly wants Tim Tebow to host a show after his football season ends, Hollywood Life reports.

“SNL realizes it would be HUGE ratings and they are hoping he will say yes,” a Hollywood Life source says. “Tim just can’t and won’t be able to do it while the season is still in play.”

SNL aired a controversial sketch last weekend involving Tebow (watch it here). The sketch mocked Tebow’s Broncos and said Jesus had to constantly bail them out at the end of games. Unsurprisingly, the show was criticized by the Christian Right movement.

All Tebow! All the time! Everything Tebow at FOXSports.com

We know that Tebow is a good sport with a friendly personality, so he probably would be willing to host the program. Just don’t expect him to do anything during the season — teammate Eric Decker says it’s nearly impossible to get him out.

Tebow would join Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as other star quarterbacks who have hosted the show.
