Batista says Brock Lesnar breaking Undertaker’s streak ‘made me sick’

Fan Undertaker reaction

Brock Lesnar took down The Undertaker at Wrestlemania earlier this year in one of the most shocking defeats in WWE history. Prior to losing to Lesnar, Undertaker had been 21-0 in his Wrestlemania career. Some fans were so upset by the outcome of the match that they walked out of the Louisiana Superdome. WWE superstar Dave “Batista” Bautista knows exactly how they felt.

During a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Batista ripped the decision to have Undertaker lose like he did.

“It sucked! Honestly, I thought it sucked,” Lesnar said. “I haven’t really talked much about it but I think it was a bad decision, a horrible decision. I don’t have any say in the matter but to me, watching as a fan, it made me sick.

“Brock Lesnar beating him didn’t seem to work and it really wasn’t good that Brock left the day after. I just don’t see how that made sense at all. I don’t think anyone wanted to see the streak broken and it just didn’t make sense to me.”

I think most wrestling fans would agree with Batista. Lesnar, a three-time WWE champion, has bounced between mixed martial arts and wrestling. While he has been wildly popular during his time in the WWE, he is hardly the same type of legend that the Undertaker is. The streak eventually ending made sense. Having Lesnar end it didn’t.

Undertaker reportedly suffered concussion, neck sprain at WrestleMania

Undertaker Wrestlemania

While we don’t believe that Brock Lesnar went off script at WrestleMania 30 Sunday when he beat The Undertaker and handed the giant his first loss at the huge event, the reports saying that Taker suffered a concussion and neck sprain during the match appear to be legitimate.

WrestleChat first posted about the rumor, which they picked up off a posting on a Reddit thread. Here’s what the Reddit user posted:

My dad works for WWE. He’s at WrestleMania right now. He said an ambulance just showed up to take the Undertaker to the hospital and Vince and Brock went with him. It sounds serious :(

Hacksaw Jim Duggan also tweeted about Taker possibly being hurt:

On top of that, someone on Twitter also said that their mother transported Undertaker and Brock’s manager Paul Heyman to the hospital.

Matt Boone at EWrestlingNews says he confirmed that Undertaker was taken to the hospital after the match, though he was unable to confirm reports of a possible concussion/neck sprain.

No, it doesn’t look like Lesnar beat Undertaker when he wasn’t supposed to, but he may have given Taker an injury during the match. It could have been on a single leg takedown when he got hurt.

Maybe Undertaker agreed to lose because his body can’t handle the wrestling anymore. At least that was the speculation from our wrestling insider Arsen D.

Brock Lesnar ends Undertaker’s Wrestlemania winning streak

Undertaker Wrestlemania

The Undertaker had been 21-0 in his career at Wrestlemania, but on Sunday in New Orleans, one of the greatest winning streaks in sports came to an end.

Brock Lesnar, who had been talking about facing The Undertaker for years, beat The Taker and provided one of the most surprising outcomes in recent wrestling history.

To say nobody saw this coming would be an understatement. Lesnar was at least +850 as an underdog in the wagering for the match. This fan’s reaction said it all:

Fans are already naming this the “Louisiana Screwjob” because they’re so upset. Other reports say fans were so ticked off they began leaving the dome.

Undertaker chokeslams Brock Lesnar, will face him at WrestleMania (Video)

Brock Lesnar UndertakerIt’s finally on! The Undertaker showed up to “RAW” on Monday night in Green Bay and was challenged by Brock Lesnar to sign a contract to fight him at WrestleMania 30. Lesnar told Taker to sign a contract, but The Undertaker used the pen to stab Lesnar’s hand and then chokeslammed him through a table.

The two have faced each other before at No Mercy in the past, but this WrestleMania match has been in the works for a while.

You may recall that Undertaker showed up to the Honda Center in Anaheim for Lesnar’s UFC 121 fight against Cain Velasquez in 2010 and tried to goad Brock into fighting at WrestleMania. The match didn’t happen then, but it will finally be happening a little more than three years later.

Now the only question is whether Brock will be the person who breaks Taker’s perfect record at WrestleMania.

Undertaker Trying to Goad Brock Lesnar into a Fight, Possibly at Wrestlemania

If Josh Koscheck drew the strongest reaction from the fans amongst personalities in the crowd who weren’t fighting at UFC 121, then The Undertaker was right behind him. Being 6’10” and wearing a bandanna around your head, you’re going to stand out. After the Brock Lesnar-Cain Velasquez main event came to a close, Lesnar sauntered through the crowd on his way back to the locker room. The Undertaker, who had premium seats, got into Brock’s face. Little did I know that Ariel Helwani was there interviewing The Undertaker at the time and caught it all on camera:

LBS contributor Alan Hull, who shared the story with us, says the conspiracy theory is that The Undertaker and WWE wants to get Brock Lesnar back into wrestling to fight at Wrestlemania 27. I don’t think it’s going to happen.

First off, Lesnar didn’t love his time in WWE and hasn’t done it for a while, so I’m guessing he won’t be anxious to get back until he’s absolutely done in MMA. Second, just because he lost to Cain Velasquez doesn’t mean he’s done fighting in the UFC. You know he wants to get back to being a champion, and his message after the loss was that he would regroup and bounce back the way a champion does. He won’t go back to wrestling until his MMA career is over. That’s probably five years away, if it ever happens.
