Adam Jones uses cake to face to circumvent team rule
The 2016 MLB season just started and the Baltimore Orioles have already broken team rules. Sort of.
Over the offseason, the Orioles banned pies to the face as a celebration for safety reasons. Jamming a pie in someone’s face had become tradition for the Orioles after victories, but they resolved to discontinue the process.
So what was the team to do after Matt Wieters delivered a walk-off RBI single to lift the O’s to victory against the Minnesota Twins on Monday?

Jones hit Wieters with a cake to avoid no-pie rule. "You know, I've lost control of the team again," Buck quipped. #orioles

You know, Adam, we’re pretty sure it’s not about the consistency of the dessert that’s the issue, but rather the act of smashing something into a teammate’s face that’s a concern.
If the team bans cakes to the face next, we’re fully expecting Jones to come through with a brownie to the face.
