Beltran was a very highly sought-after free agent, and the 39-year-old seems like a good fit with Houston, who were seeking a veteran mentor for their young lineup. Astros fans are already very familiar with him, as he hit a remarkable eight home runs in 12 playoff games with the team in 2004.
