Toronto Blue Jays fans could not contain their emotions on Friday as their team laid waste to the Los Angeles Dodgers to kick off the World Series.
The Blue Jays needed just one inning to annihilate the Dodgers and take a 1-0 World Series lead in front of a packed Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. After being unable to break through with a run over the first three innings, the home team got a game-tying two-run home run from Daulton Varsho that electrified the crowd.

Varsho’s home run was just the appetizer. The Blue Jays served the main course during the sixth inning. A Bo Bichette walk, Alejandro Kirk single, and Varsho hit-by-pitch drove Dodgers starter Blake Snell out of the game. Ernie Clement, Andres Gimenez, and Nathan Lukes drove the first trio in with a pair of singles and an RBI walk, respectively
It was death by a thousand paper cuts for the Dodgers at first, up until Addison Barger brought out a nuclear missile in the form of a pinch-hit grand slam — the first in World Series history.
