Braves apologize for poor ‘hurricane’ music choice against Marlins

An Atlanta Braves official apologized for a poor choice of music used by the team during their game Thursday against the Miami Marlins.

Miami Herald reporter Clark Spencer tweeted that the Braves played the ’80s Scorpion song “Rock You Like a Hurricane” between innings during the game.

Braves just played "Like A Hurricane" between innings over the stadium PA. Not cool, Braves. Not cool.

Ordinarily there wouldn’t be anything wrong with playing that song as it’s a crowd-pleaser. The problem is that Hurricane Irma is approaching Florida after already causing devastation in islands nearby. Many people in Florida are facing potential evacuation in the face of the massive storm.

Spencer says that a Braves official apologized for the music choice, which was likely an oversight.

Braves official apologized, said "Rock You Like A Hurricane" is on home playlist, should have been pulled. Won't be played again this series

Despite the song, the Braves clearly are not insensitive towards the plight of those in Florida. They have offered free tickets to the weekend series between the Braves and Marlins to anyone who is evacuating Florida.
