Brewers planning bullpen game for NLDS opener
The Milwaukee Brewers will be the first team to bring bullpenning to the division series.
According to manager Craig Counsell, the Brewers are planning a bullpen day for Thursday’s NLDS opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers, with no word on who their “opener” will be.
Brewers are going to bullpen Game 1 of the NLDS. They haven’t picked an initial out-getter yet, Craig Counsell said.

This won’t be the first time we see this setup. The Oakland Athletics intend to employ it during Wednesday’s AL Wild Card game, but the Brewers are poised to be the first team to employ the strategy during a playoff series.
Milwaukee has a guy who’s been the talk of baseball for the last several weeks, so they’ll be looking to him to carry them deep into October. They probably won’t do it on the strength of their pitching, but if they can mix and match and throw off opponents with a number of different looks, anything can happen.
