Milwaukee Brewers catcher Erik Kratz had a great comment about his dust-up with Joey Votto during Thursday’s game.
Votto was batting in the bottom of the third of Cincinnati’s 6-4 loss to Milwaukee. He had a 3-1 count and felt that the fifth pitch was outside and therefore ball four. When it was called a strike, he said something to the umpire.
Kratz responded and ended up face-to-face with Votto, with the two exchanging words. Benches cleared, although nothing happened.

Votto ended up flying out in the at-bat.
After the game, Kratz brushed the incident aside with a joke about the two arguing over politics.
Erik Kratz on that little dust-up with Joey Votto: "Completely blown out of proportion, that’s all. We were discussing the Canadian dollar and flawed systems in our two governments. He was coming from a different side of it, and we were just discussing those kinds of things."

Votto is Canadian, which explains the currency remark, though we wonder the extent to which that would have bothered him.
Kratz’s sense of humor in the matter is amusing.
