The Miami Marlins threw at Ronald Acuna Jr. once again, and Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker paid the price.
Snitker was ejected in the bottom of the first inning of Tuesday’s Braves-Marlins game for defending Acuna Jr. following a hit-by-pitch. Marlins starter Elieser Hernandez hit Acuna with the first pitch he threw in the game, leading to a warning. Snitker didn’t like that and came out to argue, resulting in his ejection.

A big reason for Snitker’s reaction is the history between the sides. Nearly a year ago, Marlins pitcher Jose Urena was ejected from a game for hitting Acuna with his first pitch. Urena seemed to be hitting Acuna to prevent the outfielder from hitting another homer amid an incredibly hot streak. Seeing Hernandez hit Acuna with the first pitch of the game surely brought back memories.
Acuna may have been benched for a lack of hustle over the weekend, but Snitker is showing he still has his young star’s back.
