Buck Showalter is looking for a new manager job after he was fired by the New York Mets, and several MLB insiders have linked him to one opening.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported on Tuesday that Showalter is a candidate for the Los Angeles Angels manager job.

Morosi notes that Showalter has a relationship with Angels general manager Perry Minasian. Minasian was a scout with the Texas Rangers when Showalter managed the team from 2003-2006.
The Angels reportedly want to hire a veteran manager after they fired Phil Nevin earlier this month. Showalter, who is 67, certainly qualifies as an experienced candidate. He has managed five teams during his career and has a .509 winning percentage over 22 seasons. His teams have made six postseason appearances.
The Angels have not made the playoffs since 2014 and have not had a winning season since 2016. Things only seem to be getting worse as Shohei Ohtani will be a free agent this offseason and could leave for another team.
Showalter was fired by the Mets following a disastrous 75-87 season. There have been indications that the interest between him and the Angels could be mutual.
