The St. Louis Cardinals are being investigated by the FBI for potentially being the ones who perpetrated the hack of the Houston Astros’ front office internal conversations.
This is a serious offense and unlike anything we have seen in MLB history. My first thought upon hearing this news was that the allegations are worse than what the Patriots faced for “Spygate.” Unsurprisingly, many others felt the same way and even noted plenty of similarities between the cases. The result was plenty of jokes and memes to hit the net, which is pretty much business as usual.
Take a look at these great memes and jokes about the Cardinals’ alleged hack:

And then of course there were the obligatory “new logo” and “new jerseys” jokes:

Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy had the best joke we saw:
in keeping with baseball tradition, a Houston exec should walk into the STL offices and hit their best front office guy with a fastball

This isn’t really a joke. It’s just sad.

In addition to the photos and jokes above, an entire hashtag was born from the story. People cracked jokes using the hashtag “#astrospasswords.” Our friends at SI captured some of the best ones.
